Class Descriptions

The Silver Sneakers Circuit workout offers standing, low-impact choreography alternated with standing upper-body strength work with handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a Silver Sneakers ball. A chair is available for standing support.

Retro and current jazz styles mix for the perfect dance class. Challenge mind, body, and soul while increasing your level of fitness and losing weight. The class includes warm-ups, isolations, center floor, and jazz routine.

Incidents of fraud are on the rise and scammers’ tactics are becoming more complex. In this workshop we will discuss how to spot certain red flags that may indicate a fraudulent encounter.

How do we address key concerns like inflation, health care expenses, and market volatility, as well as the unexpected?

It is important to understand your options with Social Security and the impact your decisions have on your retirement. Discussions include when you should start taking Social Security and the tax considerations of doing so.

Perspectives on financial concerns facing women getting ready to retire or who have recently retired. Focusing on Fixed Income

Yoga/Stretch will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of poses designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. All exercises are adaptable for use with a mat.

Tai Chi is a Chinese practice of slow, graceful, and fluid movements to exercise the body and the mind through a series of postures that create a synchronized dance called a form. This ancient exercise has been found to provide many health benefits such as improving strength, flexibility and balance, lowering blood pressure, and relieving stress.

Tai Chi requires no special equipment or dress. All of the classes emphasize awareness, body alignment, balance, and breathing. The beginners class includes a gentle warm up, introduction to basic foot patterns, and weight shifts. This is the first of the three Yang Family Short Form and Zhan Zhuang (standing meditation).

This class is for students who have learned the first out of the three Yang Family Short Form. In addition to continuing learning the Form and Zhan Zhuang, students will learn and practice the five set Soaring Crane Qigong and the Deer Form from the Five Animal Frolics Qigong and partner work in the form of “Pushing Hands” rounds out this class.

Looking to learn tap dancing from a pro? Look no further! From beginner to advanced, we’ve got you covered! Develop speed and clarity through proper technique, master the “tricks” of tap and explore various genres from the 1930s to the present. Our instructor will be bringing extraordinary experience and enthusiasm to class. You just need your shoes. You'll be on your toes (and heels) in no time! 

This class is designed to help you become stronger and improve balance. The movements taught in class focus on specific exercises to improve strength and power around the ankle, knee, and hip joints while improving your reaction time. Designed for fall prevention, this class is suitable for nearly every fitness level. It can be adapted depending upon the skill of the individual participants. A chair may be used for balance and stability. Total Body Balance and Stability is free to Silver Sneakers members.

Restart your active lifestyle with light cardio; weight resistance using your own body weight, core, lower- and upper-body exercises; and stretching. This one-hour class is designed to maintain/increase strength, endurance, and balance all while having fun!

An energizing practice incorporating Sun Salutations, standing and sitting poses, as well as breathing and relaxation. Students should wear loose and comfortable clothing; remove shoes and socks upon entry; avoid the use of strong perfumes; drink water before, during, and after class; and go at your own pace. Please inform the instructor prior to class of any recent injury, surgery, and/or special conditions.

All students must have a yoga mat. Yoga For All is free to Silver Sneakers members.

Hatha Yoga is a slow-paced stretching class with some simple breathing exercises and perhaps some seated or lying meditation. This is a good place to learn basic poses and relaxation techniques and connect with the relaxing world of yoga. Bring a mat and wear loose comfortable clothing.
